LAPPING MACHINES
Achieve precision flatness to Ra in many materials with GMT Flat Lapping Machines.
GMT started manufacturing imbrication machines in 1971. They were developed for lapping silicon wafers for Bharath Electronics. latterly, when demand for large amounts of face plates arose, the machines were modified to stage face plates.
ADVANTAGES OF LAPPING
A wide variety of accouterments can be lapped.
Flatness to one light band(0.0003 mm) on 100 dia can be achieved.
A face finishes to lower than0.2 µRA can be achieved.
corridor of different accouterments, densities, and shapes can be lapped.
Because the flatness of the stage- plate is maintained continuously by means of exertion rings, there's no interruption in the product.
Applicable compasses of the exertion rings result in optimum imbrication area.
Eventually, automatic and malleable digital display times control the imbrication cycles.
A PARTIAL LIST OF THE MATERIALS WHICH CAN BE LAPPED
Cast iron, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Citation
Plastics, Tungsten, Pottery
Silicon, Carbon, Alumina, Ferrite, Stellite
MODELS AVAILABLE( stage PLATE DIA)
300 mm and 400 mm DIA
300 mm and 400 mm dia imbrication machines are bench models and are robust. The stage plate and exertion rings are of special, close-granulated cast iron. The taper comber bearing supports the stage plate for maximum stability.
610, 900 & 1200 DIA
The structure for these sizes is heavy-duty and with heavy ribbing. The design of the main spindle comportments gives great axial cargo capacity, maximum stability, long life, and smooth performance indeed under heavy eccentric lading. stage plates are manufactured from close-granulated amalgamation cast iron, stress-relieved after-machining, and eventually finish-machined and lapped in position.
1500, 1800, and 2100 DIA
Sizes 1500, 1800, and 2100 mm dia machines are massive with robust bases. Large heavy-duty comber comportments take care of eccentric and other radial loads.
The drive is through the main motor through ‘ V ’ belts through a fluid coupling to ensure smooth working. The drive to the stage plate is through a heat-treated pinion and a high tensile spheroidal cast internal gear. Variable speed drive for stage plate, the rear medium for conditioning ring is a standard force. Water cooling for the stage plate is voluntary.
Imbrication ACCESSORIES
Monochromic Beacon
Optic tenement
GMT optic apartments are made from clear fused quartz. Flats made of quartz are superior due to their veritably low thermal expansion and lesser bruise resistance. GMT optic apartments are available in 50, 75, 100, and 150 mm dia sizes.
POLISHING stage
In order to gain the loftiest reflectivity from a lapped face for light band interpretation, it's generally needed to hand polish the sample corridor compactly after work has been lapped. GMT polishing stands effectively handle a fine grade polishing paper, holding it tight to help round the edges of the work, yet permitting easy access to a new section of paper when asked. The stage uses a standard roll of polishing paper.
