Precision Lapping Machine Surface Finish

lapping machines

Lapping machines are a form of precision completing system. Lapping is an unfastened abrasive machining manner that differs from honing or grinding due to the fact the abrasive motion comes now no longer from a strong abrasive (like a grinding wheel) but from a slurry--abrasive debris combined with oil or water.

Achieve precision flatness to Ra in many materials with GMT Flat Lapping Machines.

Types of Lapping Machine:

According to the rubbing motion, the lapping manner may be divided into  types:

Hand Lapping: In this manner, the workpiece is rubbed over the lapping plate manually. ...

Machine Lapping: It is used for completing big portions of comparable parts.

Hand lapping

Lapping is a machining manner wherein surfaces are rubbed collectively with an abrasive among them, via way of means of hand motion or the use of a system.

Lapping Involves the Use of Abrasive Particles to Modify the Work-Pieces. The Abrasive Particles are Mixed with a Water-Base or Oil Base Liquid. The Combined Abrasive and Liquid are Called a “Slurry”, which is a Liquid Cutting Tool. The Slurry is Placed on a Rotating Motorized Platform Called a “Lap Plate”

Advantages of lapping:

The intense accuracy of dimensions. Correction of youngster imperfections of shape. Refinement of floor finish. Producing near-match among mating surfaces.
